Our Ministries

We have an obligation and an opportunity to make all feel welcome. The Evangelism Ministry team showcase sincere enthusiasm when welcoming and collecting information from visitors. Visitors come to City of God Ministry by invitation, or as a result of meetings and through the media.

Evangelism is one of the fivefold ministries that Christ gave to us for the expansion of the church and to pull people out of hell to the kingdom of Christ through the preaching of the Word of God. People cannot know about Christ or come out of hell if we don’t reach out to them, that is why Christ said: “Go into the world and preach Me and anyone who believes shall be baptism.” When we sit back not preaching Jesus to people, we are selfish and literally telling the people they are release to hell.

Minister of Protocol, is a deep and devoted office, where Christ is been serve wholeheartedly. It often called the sold-out office; where the ministers under this humble and great office go out of their ways with all genuineness to be sold out in and out to Christ in the church without complaint. They are the first in the church and last to go. They failed to seek human honour rather the unseen honour that comes from God.

They often serve in the capacity of assisting the Pastoral/Stewardship team and the Head prophet, managing the service flow during all services. Other responsibilities are as follows: assist with service structure start time by checking–in and working with the Media Director, Usher and Greeting Ministry Leader, Security, Music (Praise & Worship) Ministry Leaders, Facilities and sound crew, and ask the Pastoral/Stewardship for the order of service and any updates before and during service.

The Assistant Pastor and the Secretary are to maintain the Head Prophet’s schedule, calendar, and his travel plans accordingly. With all humility and total brokenness, he is expected to assist the prophet and the church. He must serve the church and the leaders as thou serving Christ, at the same time his marriage must be stable in obedience to God and their children walking in the fear of God. He may also preach at any given time as directed by the prophet. Self-interest must be off the mind of the assistant Pastor, and not possess the love of money or extramarital affairs. He must maintain the standard of the church and not giving to alcohol. He must be a man of humility and with a good report both in and out of the church.

The greeters and ushers ministry is an important role at City of God Ministry, as they are first to come into contact with the congregation. The mission of the greeters and ushers ministry is modeled after Psalm 84:10.

The Ushers/Maintenance team focuses on the building maintenance and church facility to ensure items operate properly. The team is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and cleanliness of the environment. We adhere to a safe environment and sanitary codes. Children are the heritage from the LORD, offering a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. — Psalm 127:3–4.

The above verses of the Bible express the thought of God to us and our Children. He said in verse 5’ of the same chapter; “Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. . .”

All our children department will be guided by men and women who are children lovers, born again and well-mannered in the Church.

The Performing Arts Ministry (operating within the Music and Drama Ministry) focuses on various forms of movement with the incorporation of media and creative writing.  Members will participate in class sessions and learn the basics of various movements, improvisation, liturgical, contemporary and more. The goal of the Performing Arts Ministry is to design a Christian drama and is modelled after Psalm 149:1–3 which is visual to the glory of Christ and for the building of faith of the Church.

City of God intercessors are in different form from the prayer warrior. Our intercessors are a special force designed for any emergency in the church to aid the lives of any members.

They are trained as a church guerrilla team to combat any situation that needs emergency prayer either in the night or during the day. They also work with the evangelism team in helping new comers to be rooted in the Church. Intercessors are trained to fast, pray, do night vigil and they are fit mountain clamber to seek the face of God on any situation.

The Hand of Compassion Ministry, is one of the soul pillars of City of God Ministry and consists of a group of active selected members who received a mandate from God, reveal through their ministry to show kindness and provide various services in serving the community, and Church.

The Scripture instructs us all that as a Child of God we have to be hospitable individual and if we want our prayer to be answered. (Isaiah 58:3–12). Hand of Compassion department should consist of a group of members who are willing to give off themselves to assist and bless others, who enjoy making others happy through preparing meals, assisting first time visitors and special guests, and often give off gifts.

They evaluate the cost of all our programmes, the suitable venues, etc. These selected people will be full of the Holy Spirit with the spirit of humility and listening ear to the community and the Church. They are dedicated people who have killed their pride and ready to serve with selfless spirit to the glory of God.

These are selected people of honour and dedicated with fear of God on a mission to move the work of God forward. Their passion is to make the house of God an atmosphere of worship and a home to everyone.

God Himself as the institutor of all kingdom builder, He said; “I am the master builder.” He wanted us to build a sanctuary where we all stand to worship Him. He told us in His word that even our breakthroughs are attached to it.

CGM mission is to empower students to live 4LOVE, 4LEADERSHIP, 4HOLINESS and 4LIGHT. Bringing the whole community youth together, both in the Church and outside the Church for one purpose; “Christ the centre.” In Christ we find Love, Leadership, Holiness and Light. CGM youth will be trained and motivated to show Love, Leadership, Holiness and Light in their various campuses, home, Church and in the community.

CGM Youth leaders will work hand in hand with the Youth patron or matron and see to it that all youth programmes are put in place to empower the youth.

Men of CGM are “Watchmen” with honour, kings, fathers, leaders and role model in their home, Church, and the community. They carry the image of Christ where ever they go with dignity.

The Lord said; I have set Watchmen on your walls O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. . . . Isaiah 62:6.

Watchmen are those men with an inward burning desire for God and Spiritual tenacity unspeakable burning in their bones, transcending to the outward man uncontrollably which drive them to serve God with no apology to the devil, because they’ve accepted the fact about their calling that they are sold out to Christ. Watchmen are men that serve God not with lips service. They stand in the night hours in their homes and in the Church seeking the face of God in prayer and searching the Word of God to the leadership of their family.

Women are so precious in the hands of God. The desire of God is to make use of us, turning our mess into a message of hope, and our broken pieces into an image of glory standing at the center of the Church and community to show the praise of our God.

Women of CGM are glorious “daughter of Zion.” We walk tall in the community, showing the praise of Christ through our Godly characters and the message of hope never cease in our mouth.

The Lord said; Sing, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem! . . . . Zephaniah 3:14–19.

City of God wants to ensure perfection and discipline in all of our services, including Sunday service and on our special programmes. All our programme directors would try as much as possible to collect accurate information and also ensure that the program is conducted beautifully. Programme director would work with the minister of protocol, the ushers, choir, and get in touch with all leaders ensuring all information needed is on the table prior the church service.

City of God worship leader must maintain a steadfast walk with God personally, understanding the role of praise and worship, and of valuing his or her unique assignment as a worship leader or music minister. Praise and worship is a supernatural experience; it’s not an entertainment or an art, to assist others in that experience — to create an atmosphere where the Spirit of God can move among the people and do a work in their hearts — requires diligence and commitment, not just “showing up” each week to minister! In other words, leading worship is something you do on purpose and with purpose.

These are dedicated, selected and selfless people of God who would sacrifice all they have to pray for the Church, community, nation, and their own home, bringing Christ at the center of all things. They pray until they win. They bring God power down and demolish all power of the enemies through their prayers.

And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day. — Luke 2:36–37.

Asher was one of the six tribes in Israel and one of the sons of Jacob chosen, who stood on mount Ebal and proclaimed curses upon themselves before the LORD not to do certain things against the LORD GOD of Host (Deuteronomy 27:13-23). God deliberately possessed them with fertile land. Three prophets in three generation blessed them (Genesis 49:20: Jacob) (Deuteronomy 33:24: Moses) (Joshua 19:24-25: Joshua).

They are those who have killed their selfish desires, ambitions, and sold out for Christ to invest their time, energy, and spiritual gifts on men and women for the kingdom of God to come on earth and for Christ to have His full place in the heart of men.

They are born with homogeneous spiritual substances in the DNA of God. They would not bow to the enemy and circumstances beyond their control won’t take advantage of them. They will say; “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

They always take good advantage of the situation and turn it to a testimony through their prayer.
